Abstract Water bodies are being contaminated daily due to industrial, agricultural and domestic effluents. In the last decades, harmful organic micropollutants (OMPs) have been detected in surface groundwater at low concentrations discharge of untreated effluent natural water bodies. As a consequence, aquatic life public health endangered. Unfortunately, traditional treatment methods ineffective degradation most OMPs. recent years, advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) techniques received extensive attention for mineralization OMPs order avoid serious environmental problems. Cold atmospheric plasma discharge-based AOPs proven promising technology non-biodegradable substances like This paper reviews wide range cold sources with their reactor configurations used (such as dyes, pharmaceuticals, pesticides) wastewater. The role parameters (e.g. input power, voltage, working gas, time, concentrations, etc.) on various discussed.
